When should you choose a one-day vignette?
The one-day Slovak vignette is a practical choice for drivers planning to use motorways and expressways requiring a vignette during a single calendar day. It is suitable for a one-off trip to Slovakia, a short visit, a business trip or a single transit through the country. If you plan to travel there and back on different days, we recommend comparing the price of two one-day vignettes with the price of a vignette with a longer validity period.
Valid only until midnight on the selected day
The one-day motorway vignette is valid from 00:00 to 23:59 on the selected calendar day. If you purchase it with validity starting on the current day, for example at 11:00, it will not be valid for the following 24 hours, but only until midnight on the same day. The Slovak government is currently considering a change that could introduce a 24-hour validity period for the one-day motorway vignette. Until any such change comes into effect, the vignette remains valid only until the end of the selected calendar day.
How to choose the right day of validity?
When purchasing your vignette, select the day on which you plan to travel on Slovak motorways and expressways. If your journey continues past midnight or you will use these roads again the following day, a one-day vignette may no longer cover your entire planned journey. Therefore, when planning your trip, take into account every calendar day on which you will use Slovak motorways and expressways. You can select the start date up to 60 days in advance, allowing you to purchase the vignette well before your journey.
